Think of it as a conversation. The news reports, and you answer. Not with a term paper, debate argument, or scientific take-down, but with your human story—a memory or series of memories that may have helped to shape the way you see a particular news story. We’re seeking nonfiction writing as well as visual, audio, and multimedia art that tells a true story in response to news, capturing something unique, special, and personal about the way you see the world.

Please note: We welcome submissions from people of all backgrounds and views, but no inciting violence, engaging in hate speech, or promoting the spread of bigotry, as threats and insults—obvious or implied—prevent us from seeing and hearing each other’s humanity and are, therefore, antithetical to our mission. We have human reasons for feeling the way we do. Human experiences. Let’s hear about those.

Questions? Or do you just want to say hi? Feel free to contact us.
